Course

This event is open to all skills and abilities. This course is 5k (3.1 miles) starting and finishing in Bend's beautiful Drake Park. The course takes you south toward the historic Old Mill District and Mill Point Business Park, winds back through McKay Park and residential neighborhoods, and returns to Drake Park where festivities and the finish line await. The route is mostly flat with hills on Columbia and Shevlin-Hixon. The course will be well marked. Aid stations will offer water, and volunteers along the course will encourage and help direct participants. View race map

Strollers, Pets & More

Pets will not be allowed on the course or in Drake Park during the event. Participants who plan to take young children with them are asked to walk, rather than run, with strollers or other wheeled child carriers. Please do not bring any other wheeled devices, including skates and bicycles, onto the course. Wheelchairs, assistive mobility equipment, and service animals are excluded from this policy. Thank you for helping to ensure that all participants have a safe and enjoyable experience during the Heaven Can Wait event.

Celebration

Honor cancer survivors in our community with festivities at the finish line including music, food, massages and exhibitor booths offering cancer prevention information, and information on local programs and services. Bring your family and friends and join in the celebration.

Awards

Prizes will be awarded in the survivor category only — 1st, 2nd and 3rd for both female and male. Public acknowledgement will be made for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for all categories in 5-year age increments (up to age 70, which will be classified as 70 and over).
